July Blog Post
July naturally brings me to thoughts of the USA, being an American, and the love of freedom and liberty. I like to think our country is healing – healing from an actual virus that struck us down physically, emotionally, and economically. Most people alive at this moment had never experienced anything like it, and I pray to God that we will never again, but who knows? There could be something far worse somewhere, lurking, breeding, poised to strike when we least expect it. For now, I believe it has left us a touch kinder and a little more appreciative. Most importantly it has left us with more awareness of the preciousness of health, life, and loved ones.
We are also healing from strife over political and social divisions that just like the corona virus, most of us have never seen the likes of. At least, I hope and pray we are healing. I hope I never have to witness the vitriol, hatred, and malevolence that was so prevalent in our country throughout 2020. I beseech God to help us love one another and live together in peace. If a fight is required for us to combat injustice and bigotry, then let our fight be against the evil that perpetrates such matters and not against each other. The evil in the hearts of men/women/they/whoever can exist only in the absence of the love of God. Let us strive to fill our hearts with love for God and each other, leaving no room for wickedness.
